The main concern was the on-going problems with road conditions in the Parish. The Clerk had contacted Powys Council as requested; who had advised that the C1203 Craswall to Hay on Wye road had been closed due to the road giving way and was unlikely to re-open for several weeks. Many of the roads in Llanveynoe were in a very poor condition and it was agreed that these would need repairing before the forthcoming tourist season. A local resident had now cleared the ditches on Cefn Lane which had alleviated the problem of standing water; this should hopefully enable Balfour Beatty to continue their repairs. Councillor Powell advised that since 1st September 2013 approximately 50,000 reports of road damage had been received by Balfour Beatty in 2500 miles of road. Many other roads in Herefordshire had far more serious problems and it was noted that Balfour Beatty had been in the Parish recently.
Some residents have expressed concerns over the visual impact of the proposed mobile phone mast although the Parish Council felt it was much needed in the area, this was a one off opportunity and such an initiative is unlikely to happen again in the future. The majority of parishioners who had expressed an opinion had welcomed the project.
Mr N Powell raised concerns that the general public were unaware that they could attend Parish Council meetings.
